The University of Rochester men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Division I Colgate University on Sunday, picking up a singles win from junior
Kai Yuminaga.

Yuminaga impressed at third singles, winning in straight sets, posting a 6-2, 7-6 (6) victory over the Raiders Mike Thomas.

The Yellowjackets (1-3) also had solid singles performances from
Pasquale Procaccino at #1 and
Adrian Zhang at #5, albeit in losing efforts. Procaccino was defeated 6-4, 6-4 at the top spot by Jack Selati, while Zhang fell to Nick Potter 6-2, 7-6 (1).

Rounding out singles play, Rohan Gupta defeated
Krish Vennam at the second spot 6-3, 6-1, Benito Vlassis topped
Kei Ogawa 6-1, 6-1 at #4 and Josh Israel won over
Rohan Dhawan 6-0, 6-1 in the sixth spot in the order.

Colgate (4-3) was stellar in doubles play, yielding only four games across the three matches. Thomas and Israel won 8-0 at #3 against Zhang and
Kenneth Lee to start things off. UR's number two team of Yuminaga and Ogawa dropped an 8-2 decision to Nate Romig and Selati. The Raiders completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 win from Potter and Gupta over Procaccino and Vennam.

Rochester returns to the courts on Wednesday when the Yellowjackets host local rival Nazareth in a match starting at 4 pm in the Goergen Athletic Center.
