The University of Rochester men's tennis team was stellar in a 9-0 sweep over Nazareth College on Wednesday evening at the Goergen Athletic Center.

Rochester moves to 2-3 on the young season, while the visiting Golden Flyers fall to 1-2.

The Yellowjackets earned all three doubles points and were straight set winners in all six singles matches. Four Rochester players,
Krish Vennam,
Kai Yuminaga,
Kei Ogawa and
John Hui, were all double-winners on the night.

UR got things started with a doubles sweep at #1, as
Pasquale Procaccino and Vennam won 8-0. Yuminaga and Ogawa paired at #2 for an 8-3 victory while Hui and
Rohan Dhawan put Rochester up 3-0 with an 8-5 triumph at third doubles.

In singles play, all six Yellowjackets won their match by surrendering at most three games to their opposing play. Vennam and Ogawa each were one game shy of a perfect match, winning 6-0, 6-1 at positions one and four, respectively. Ogawa earned the match clinching point.

Yuminaga played at #2 and won 6-0, 6-2, while
Adrian Zhang was a 6-1, 6-2 victor at the third position.

Kenneth Lee took his point at fifth singles after his opponent retired from the match, trailing 6-1, 2-1. Hui completed the Rochester sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at #6 singles.

Rochester is off for spring break and will return to action on March 19-20 with road matchups in Massachusetts against Brandeis and Emerson.
