INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Sophomore diver
David Robinson of the men's swimming and diving team completed his competition at the 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday afternoon, competing in the 1-meter diving event.
Robinson placed in 21st overall of 24 divers, scoring a total of 405.00 points over his 11-dive list. The sophomore earned 18th place earlier this week in the 3-meter competition.
On Friday, he finished just 12.4 points out of 16th place and All-America honors.
Robinson's best dive of the day came in round nine during the preliminaries, his inward one and a half somersault pike which scored a whopping 50.40 points. He scored all sevens from the judges and the dive vaulted the sophomore into the top-15 after that round.
For the sophomore, dives five, six and seven all scored 40+ points which proved to be solid scores throughout the competition, ending above his overall average score of 36.8 on Friday.
His second highest scoring dive was the forward two and a half somersault pike which tallied 46.80 points.
Robinson also closed the competition with another strong dive, receiving three 6.5 scores from the judges on the forward one and a half somersault twist, earning 42.90 points.
