PITTSFORD – Rochester's Peter Brodnik ran the second-fasted time in school history in the trials of the 60 meter hurdles on Friday. That race came as a qualifier at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Championships being conducted at Nazareth College. There are 48 men's institutions and 46 women's institutions competing to produce results for consideration to the NCAA Division III track & field championships next week.
 
Brodnik was timed in :08.51. He finished eighth overall and qualified to run in the finals on Saturday at Nazareth. Mitch Lienert ran a :07.18 in the qualifier for the 60 meter dash. He wound up in 20^th place. In the shot put, Ryan Swavely was 20^th overall and James O'Neill finished 21^st overall. Swavely's distance was 12.73 m. (41' 9 ¼"). O'Neill was close behind at 12.63 m. (41' 5 ¼").  The majority of finals will be conducted Saturday.
