ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Nine players from the University of Rochester have been named to one of the most prestigious honor societies connected with college football in the United States. The nine men have been named to the 2022 Hampshire Honor Society by the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame.

Rochester is one of only 52 schools to have nine or more players selected. There are 771 colleges or universities that sponsor football as an intercollegiate sport. The NFF named 313 schools on all levels to its Hampshire Honor Society for this year.

The complete listing shows 1,559 members, the second highest total since the organization has been selecting the team. This is the 16th year of the program with 14,460 players honored during that time.
