PITTSFORD, NY – The University of Rochester golf team shot a tournament low round of 292 on day two of the annual Fred Kravetz Invitational on Saturday at Oak Hill Country Club, capturing the tournament title by four strokes.
The win was Rochester's second straight in the event and third overall team title in the 22-year history of the tournament. Senior

Tom Liu and St. Lawrence's Bryan McLennan.
Rochester finished the 36-hole event with a team score of 599, shooting rounds of 307 and 292. 5th-ranked Wittenberg ended as team runner-up with a score of 603, with UR's 'B' team placing third with a score of 618. Both Wittenberg and Rochester's 'B' squad shot 294 in round two.
Rounding out the field was Hamilton in fourth (621), McDaniel in fifth (631) while Middlebury and St. Lawrence tied for sixth (635). Allegheny placed eighth with a score of 641.
The battle between Rochester and Wittenberg was fierce throughout Saturday's round, with the Yellowjackets fending off the Tigers with all five scorers shooting rounds of 75 or lower.
Gary Pan and
Brendan Frain each shot 1-over rounds of 72 for the Yellowjackets. Frain's card featured five birdies, including three straight from holes 15 through 17. Pan was steadier, notching two birdies, three bogeys and 13 pars. Pan ended the tournament in a tie for fourth place, while Frain finished tied for 13th.
Feliciano led all Rochester players on Saturday.
Senior
Lewis Raboy shot 73 on Saturday, shaving double-digit strokes off his opening round to finish in a tie for 25th.
Rochester's Liu and Datta were locked in a back-and-forth matchup for the individual title throughout Saturday's round as well, with both finishing at 4-over 75 at Oak Hill's par-71 layout. The pair started the day one stroke apart and ended the same way, as Datta was able to rally past his teammate for medalist honors using birdies on the 16th and 17th holes.
Overall, Datta finished at 148 for the tournament, with Liu ending at 149.
Two members from Rochester's 'B' team also captured strong top-10 results in the tournament.
Kerry Wang finished tied for 8th after shooting a 1-over, 72 on Sunday. He ended with a two-day score of 152.
Meanwhile,
Jeffrey Li ended tied for 10th, one stroke behind Wang, after finishing Saturday's round with a 76.
Jack Feliciano paced the 'B' squad with one of the best rounds of the day, shooting even-par 71 on Saturday. He made the turn in 2-over, but came home with two birdies and seven pars over his final nine holes to claw back to even. He finished tied for 22nd.
Rounding out the 'B' lineup for the Yellowjackets were two other sub-80 scorers in
Jonathan Zou and
Will Meinhardt. Zou carded a 4-over, 75 to end in 18th, while Meinhardt finished 39th after shooting a 79 in the final round.
Rochester now must gear up for its most important tournament of the season so far in its next event, the Liberty League Championships. The conference tournament takes place on April 29-May 1 at the Turning Stone Resort in Verona, NY.
