Aeden Angelone had a strong day two in the decathlon and ended in 14th place in a 20-athlete field after compiling a score of 6,377 points at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday afternoon.
Angelone's first NCAA appearance saw him set several personal bests in the ten-event competition spanning two days, with two of those PR's bookending day two's events.
He opened with a personal-best 16.09 second run in the 110 meter hurdles, scoring a day two high 723 points towards his score.
The next event was the discus, with Angelone moving up two spots on the decathlon leaderboard after his eighth place result of 35.88 meters scored 581 points.
Following a 3.70 meter clearance in the pole vault which scored 535 points, Angelone finished 12th among the competitors in the javelin with a mark of 344.67 meters (510 points).
To end the competition, Angelone smashed his personal best in the 1500 meters, running over seven seconds better than his previous best time in the event, finishing sixth in the field in 4:41.94. His 668-point event moved him up three spots to 14th in the overall decathlon scoring.
The NCAA Championships conclude tomorrow for the Rochester men, with junior Scottnbsp;Sikorski running in the 1500 meter finals.
