University of Rochester junior punter Alex Wing was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, as announced by D3football.com on Tuesday.
 
Wing had a phenomenal day punting the ball on Saturday in Rochester's 21-17 loss to Union. The junior booted seven punts for 317 yards (45.3 avg), including five of which ended inside the 20, matching the Yellowjacket school record.
 
Wing added punts downed or out-of-bounds at both the one-yard line and three-yard line and chipped in a long kick of 62 yards, setting a new personal best, while ranking as the eighth-longest punt in school history.
 
Through six games this season, Wing is averaging 38.70 yards per punt, the second-best mark in the Liberty League and the 37th-best mark in NCAA Division III. The Wauconda, IL native has booted 30 punts for a total of 1,161 yards, landing 15 inside the 20-yard line, and punting four for 50+ yards.
