University of Rochester women's tennis never trailed as they defeated the Ithaca College Bombers, 7-2, on Thursday afternoon at the Goergen Athletic Center.

The 'Jackets won five of the first six matches to clinch the 7-2 victory on
Josephine Libby's No. 1-singles win over Taylor Crain to move to 3-5 on the year, while the Bombers dropped to 5-3.

Libby and
Sanjana Karnam got the Yellowjackets started with an 8-2 win at No. 1-doubles, with both Libby and Karnam eventually proving to be double-winners.

Crain and Caroline Herz briefly tried the score for the Bombers, defeating
Rola Abouzeina and
Jaclyn Dron at No. 2-doubles, 8-2, before
Neha Dania and
Stephanie Kim gave UR a lead it'd never relinquish, taking the third doubles match, 8-4, over Eliana Chlenick and Sabrina Cheung.

In singles action, Abouzeina picked up Rochester's first win over Kayla Shenk at the four-spot, 6-1, 6-3, before
Jasmin Toor downed Zoe Davis, 6-2, 6-2, to give the 'Jackets a 4-1 lead.

Libby then picked up the clinching point over Crain, winning at No. 1-singles, 6-2, 7-5, to extend UR's lead to 5-1.

Rochester would pick up two more points at No. 2-singles and No. 5-singles, with Karnam topping Rebecca Andrews, 6-4, 6-0, and Dania also earning a double victory, topping Chelnick, 6-3, 6-0.

With the match decided, Chueng would pick up the final point of the day for Ithaca, winning the final singles match of the evening at the six-spot, 6-3, 6-2, over Kim.

The Yellowjackets next hit the road for their next five contests, kicking things off in Waltham, MA against the Brandeis University Judges on Saturday, March 25 at 10:00 a.m.
