BABSON PARK, MA – University of Rochester women's tennis fell to the 35th-ranked Babson College Beavers, 9-0 on Sunday at the Babson Tennis Courts in the final match of their weekend road trip to Boston.
 
The 'Jackets drop to 3-7 with the loss, while No. 35 Babson remains undefeated at 4-0 on the year.
 
The Beavers got things started in doubles action, winning all three matches over the Yellowjackets. No. 3 Olivia Soffer and No. 34 Matia Cristiani proved to be too much for No. 25 
Josephine Libby and 
Sanjana Karnam at No. 1-doubles, as Soffer and Cristiani swept UR's No. 1-doubles pair, 8-0, to give the Beavers an early 1-0 lead.
 
Adele Fernandez and Kamila Stasiowska put another point on the board for Babson, downing 
Neha Dania and 
Stephanie Kim at No. 3-doubles, 8-1, and while 
Rola Abouzeina and 
Jaclyn Dron kept things closer at No. 2-doubles, Juliette Moschella and Elena Keitt eventually pulled away by the final score of 8-5.
 
Up 3-0, Keitt picked up Babson's first point in singles action when Abourzeina had to retire before Cristiani came up with the clincher, a 6-1, 6-3, win over Libby at No. 1-singles.
 
Stasiowska and Moschella picked up two more wins for the Beavers at the two and three spots, respectively, with Stasiowska topping Karnam: 6-4, 6-3; and Moschella defeating 
Jasmin Toor, 6-2, 6-3.
 
Then Mariana Campos topped Dania, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 5-singles, before Fernandez and 
Stephanie Kim wrapped things up, with Fernandez taking the sixth, singles match, 7-5, 6-1, over Kim.
 
The 'Jackets will next head to New York City to open up another two-game, weekend road trip, facing the New York University Violets on Saturday, April 1 at 11:00 a.m.
