The University of Rochester men's tennis team got its dual match season off to a terrific start on Saturday, posting a 9-0 win over visiting Nazareth University at the Goergen Athletic Center.

Rochester (1-0), swept each of the doubles matches by at least an 8-2 score and combined to drop just six games across all six singles matches, winning each in straight sets. Nazareth drops to 0-4 on the season with the loss.

Four 'Jackets were double-winners on the day, as
Kai Yuminaga,
Ethan Samora,
Krish Vennam and
Rahul Ravi all won in singles and doubles play. The quartet made up the top-2 doubles teams in Rochester's lineup.

Vennam and Ravi started out with an 8-0 win at second doubles. At third doubles,
David Riccio and
Josh Chu earned an 8-1 victory to put the Yellowjackets up 2-0. Yuminaga and Samora followed by winning 8-2 at the top spot, posting a clean sweep in doubles.

As action turned to singles, the Yellowjackets rolled through all six matches to earn the shutout win.

Vennam won 6-0, 6-0 at the top spot in the order, with
Kavin Shukla clinching the overall match at the fourth spot in the lineup. He won by the same 6-0, 6-0 score.

With the team decision clinched, Rochester kept the pedal to the metal as Yuminaga won 6-0, 6-1 at two before Ravi won 6-1, 6-1 at the number three spot.

Wrapping up the match, Samora breezed through his match at number five with a 6-1, 6-0 score.
Kei Ogawa closed out the 9-0 win with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at the number six spot in the order.

Rochester is back on the court on Sunday, playing against the Rochester Institute of Technology at Midtowb Athletic Club starting at 3:30 pm.
