‘Jackets Score Three All-Conference Accolades

Three University of Rochester women's basketball student-athletes: Abby Gress, Callie McCulley and Hannah Lindemuth were named to the 2023-24 University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Basketball All-Conference Team, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
 
Gress and McCulley earned Second-Team All-UAA Honors, while Lindemuth was named All-UAA Honorable Mention.
 
The 'Jackets finished fifth in the UAA with an 11-14 (6-8 UAA) record, picking up UAA wins at No. 22 Emory, No. 25 WashU and Brandeis, as well as at home against the Judges, Carnegie Mellon and CWRU.
 
2nd Team:
Abby GressAbby Gress (SR, G/F, St. James, NY/St. John Baptist) – 1st All-UAA honor; The Yellowjackets' leading scorer, Gress ranked Top 10 in the UAA scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage and steals, averaging 13.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.9 steals per game. The St. James, NY native appeared in and started 23 contests for UR, averaging a team-high 26.8 minutes while leading the 'Jackets across three different categories. For the season, Gress shot 42.5 percent from the floor, 33.8 percent from three and 72.1 percent from the free-throw line, scoring double figures in 17 games. The senior also recorded four double-doubles, turning in a career-high 23 points on 11-for-16 shooting in UR's season finale at No. 22 Emory, as well as a career-best 14 rebounds three times. Gress was also named to both the Chuck Resler and Mark's Pizzeria All-Tournament teams, tallying 24 points and a team-high 22 rebounds across Rochester's two contests against Nazareth and St. John Fisher.
 
Callie McCulleyCallie McCulley (GR, F, LeRoy, NY/Batavia Notre Dame) – 2nd All-UAA honor (2022 2nd Team); McCulley started all 25 games for Rochester, providing a steady presence both offensively and defensively. The graduate forward averaged 12.0 points per game on 42.4 percent shooting to go along with 7.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 blocks per contest, ranking 12th in the conference in scoring, seventh in rebounds and third in total blocks. One of the 'Jackets' more consistent scorers, McCulley scored in double figures in 17 of 25 contests, notching a career-high 25 points vs. Emory and recording three double-doubles. For the second-straight year, the LeRoy native was named to the Resler All-Tournament Team, tallying 21 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and four blocks over UR's two season-opening contests. McCulley will graduate ranked fifth all-time in career blocks, with 138, seventh in blocks per game (1.3) and ninth in defensive rebounds with 500.
 
Honorable Mention:
Hannah LindemuthHannah Lindemuth (GR, G, Oakdale, PA/West Allegheny) – 2nd All-UAA honor (2021 1st Team); After missing almost the entire 2022-23 campaign due to injury, Lindemuth worked her way back to become one of UR's key contributors in conference play. Lindemuth appeared in all 25 contests and made 14 starts, entering the starting lineup in Rochester's UAA opener and starting all 14 conference contests. The Oakdale, PA native was Rochester's leading scorer in conference play, averaging 13.6 points per game on 38.0 percent shooting against UAA opponents, marks that ranked ninth and 11th in the UAA during conference play. Lindemuth also scored 20+ five times against conference opponents, including a season-high 22 points in wins over Carnegie Mellon and Brandeis. Overall, Lindemuth averaged 10.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game, shooting 35.9 percent from the field, 29.4 percent from three and 76.0 percent from the free-throw line. After becoming the 15th Yellowjacket to reach 1,000 career points at CWRU, Lindemuth will graduate with 1,027 career points, tied for 11th-most in program history, while ranking in the top 10 in program history in free-throw percentage, three-pointers made, scoring average, field goals attempted and three-pointers attempted.
