No. 47 University of Rochester men's tennis fell to the New York University Violets, 6-3, on Saturday afternoon inside the Goergen Athletic Center.
Prior to the contest, the Yellowjackets celebrated their two seniors:

Kai Yuminaga for their accomplishments over the last four years on the River Campus.
The Violets jumped out to an early lead in doubles action, taking the first two doubles matchups at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Alexander Lee and Boren Zheng, the 8th-ranked doubles tandem in the Northeast Region, defeated Yuminaga and
Rahul Ravi at the one spot, 8-1, while Jingyuan Chen and Louis Frowein topped
Krish Vennam and
Ethan Samora at No. 2 doubles, 8-2.
Rochester claimed its first point of the match in the third doubles matchup, as
Kavin Shukla and
David Riccio combined to take down NYU's Zachary Freier and Rumaish Khastgir, 8-5.
But the Violets kept things rolling into singles play, picking up the first three points of singles play to clinch the victory.
NYU's Frowein and Khastgir earned two-set wins at the third and fourth spots, respectively, with Khastgir defeating Samora: 6-4, 6-3, while Frowein made it 4-1 NYU with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Shukla.
Zheng would then clinch things for the Violets, needing three sets to top Vennam at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
The Yellowjackets would pick up their first point of singles play at the two spot, as Yuminaga topped Chen, ranked 48th nationally, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 1-0 (10-6).
Ogawa would add another point for UR at No. 6 singles, sweeping Lee, 6-1, 6-1, before Ravi fell to Devan Sabapathy: 4-6, 6-0, 0-1 (8-10), to wrap up the match in favor of the Violets.
With the win, NYU moves to 3-6 on the year, while Rochester falls to 8-4.
