The University of Rochester women's tennis took on its fifth nationally-ranked opponent on Sunday, dropping a 9-0 decision to NYU on Senior Day at the Goergen Athletic Center.

Prior to the match, UR's lone senior,
Jaclyn Dron was celebrated for her four years playing with the Yellowjackets in the penultimate regular season contest of the schedule.

The visiting Violets (5-3) entered the match ranked #36 in Division III and promptly went up 3-0 with a sweep of doubles play. UR's third doubles pair of Dron and
Jasmin Toor put up the toughest fight, falling 8-5 to Margaret Piatos and Kendall Kamerschen.

At first doubles,
Josephine Libby and
Sanjana Karnam were defeated 8-3 by Isabella Hartman and Jimena Menendez, with NYU's Aditi Narayan and Glenda Boeker winning 8-1 at second doubles, for the 3-0 lead.

In singles, Rochester's Karnam was the lone Yellowjacket to take a set, battling Narayan at number three. Darayan opened with a 6-4 win, Karnam responded with a 7-6 tiebreak victory. In the super tiebreaker third set Narayan won 10-1 to swipe the point.

Other singles matches saw the Violets win in straight sets. Nationally-ranked Menendez topped Libby at first singles 6-0, 6-1, while Hartman topped Toor at number two 6-1, 6-2.

At the bottom half of the order, Dron was defeated at four by Kamerschen 6-0, 6-0.
Neha Dania dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Margaret Piatos at five and Glenda Boeker won 6-0, 6-3 over
Sahithi Mathukumilli in the six slot.

Rochester wraps up the regular season next Friday at home against SUNY Geneseo.
