LEWISBURG, PA – The University of Rochester women's track and field team completed a stellar weekend competing at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic on Sunday at Christy Mathewson Memorial Stadium, piling up another school record and five All-Atlantic Region qualifying performances.
Overall, five Yellowjackets took to the competition on day two after a handful of distance runners represented Rochester during events on Saturday.
Junior
Megan Bell led the Yellowjackets on Sunday, blazing to a new school record in the 800 meters, crossing the finish in 2:10.59, smashing the old school mark set by Jordan Hurlbut in the 2021 season. Hurlbut's old mark was 2:11.90.
On Sunday, Bell finished tenth among 137 runners in her event and currently has the #6 time in Division III this outdoor season.
The junior also competed later in the day in the 200 meters, crossing the finish in that race in 25.86 seconds, good for 40th of 121 athletes. Both her 800 meter and 200 meter times were fast enough to qualify for the All-Atlantic Region Championships.
UR had two runners compete in the 400 meters, with senior
Madeline O'Connell finishing in 56.58 seconds, ranking 13th of 93 runners. Her time is top-10 on the Division III performance list and was a regional qualifier.
Raquella Casserino joined Bell and O'Connell in the 200 meters and 400 meters. Casserino finished the 400 meters in a season best 1:00.97, while her time was 27.04 seconds in the 200 meters, also a 2024 season best.
First-year
Nora Chen posted Rochester's top finish on the day, ending seventh of 51 in the 400 meter hurdles. There were 51 runners in the race, and Chen was the second finishing Division III athlete with a time of 1:03.63. That time was also a regional qualifier.
During the field events, senior

Up next for Rochester, the Yellowjacket will compete on Saturday at the SUNY Geneseo Quad Meet next weekend.
