The Liberty League announced its season-ending major awards on Thursday, with first-year jumper Lauren Murphy being recognized as the conference's Women's Rookie of the Year for the indoor track and field season.
 
All-League honors are earned by top-3 finishers at the conference meet that took place in late February. First-place finishers are named First Team All-League, second-place finishers earn Second Team All-Conference, while third-place results garner Honorable Mention accolades. Major award winners are voted on by the league coaches.
 
In all, the Yellowjackets secured 22 All-Conference awards, plus Murphy's Rookie of the Year recognition. This total includes eight First Team honors, nine Second Team honors and five Honorable Mention awards.
 
To earn Rookie of the Year status, Murphy secured two All-American honors in her first collegiate season indoors, earning First Team honors in the triple jump and Second Team honors in the long jump at the NCAA Division III Championships. The rookie finished sixth in the triple jump at NCAA's with a 12.06 meter jump, setting a new URochester school record. The first-year also placed 14th in the long jump, posting a distance of 5.45 meters. Within the Liberty League, Murphy was named the Field Performer of the Meet at the conference championships, winning the triple jump title and ranking second in the long jump, also running on the first place 4x400 meter relay. Murphy ended the regular season ranked #6 in Division III in the triple jump, #14 in the long jump and #17 as a part of URochester's 4x400 meter relay. The rookie finished with nine event wins and had five other top-3 results during the year. She was a 2-time Liberty League Performer of the Week and 4-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week this season.
