BIRMINGHAM, AL – The University of Rochester women's track and field team closed out its 2025-26 indoor season on Saturday, competing on day two of the NCAA Division III Championships, securing three top-8 results from three athletes at the Birmingham Crossplex.

First-year jumper Lauren Murphy led the group with a sixth-place result in the triple jump, while junior teammates Nora Chen and Eva Ciuffetelli finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in their events. Chen competed in the 400 meters, while Ciuffetelli ran the 800-meter finals.

The three results will earn the trio First Team All-American awards from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, which will be announced early next week.

In the team scoring, the Yellowjackets finished the two-day meet six team points, ranking tied for 30th among 60 teams that scored overall (as of 6:30 p.m., with two events still to finish).

Murphy's triple jump competition started things off for the trio, with the first-year jumping in flight two of the prelims. After a foul on her first jump, Murphy leapt 11.84 meters to put herself into a solid position to make the top-9 finals.

On her third and final jump of the preliminaries, Murphy broke her own school record in the event, hitting her best mark of the day, leaping 12.06 meters to move up the leaderboard into fourth place. Murphy would remain in fourth place until the sixth round of jump, the third of the finals, where two additional athletes posted big jumps, bumping down the UR first-year into sixth place.

Chen continued the action for URochester, running the 400 meters in heat one of the finals. The Yellowjacket junior finished fourth in her heat in 55.87 seconds, and eventually wound up the race in seventh after a runner from heat two was disqualified.

The junior finishes the week with a pair of All-America awards after she finished 16th in the 60-meter hurdles on Friday in 8.84 seconds.

Ciuffetelli closed out the meet for the Yellowjackets later on in the 800 meters. The junior ran well out of the gate, ranking second after a 30.66 second opening 200 meters. Ciuffetelli dropped one position after lap two and sat fourth at the 600-meter mark, but ended up getting passed by four others over the last 200 meters to finish eighth. The juniors time ended up being 2:12.48 and finishes off a strong indoor season in which she only just began running the 800-meter event.

After a week off, the Yellowjackets track and field teams are scheduled to begin the outdoor track and field season on Saturday, March 28th by hosting the URochester Spring Opener at Edwin Fauver Stadium.
