The Liberty League conference announced its year-end awards for the outdoor track and field season on Tuesday morning, with first-year Lauren Murphy being recognized with two major awards following voting done by the league's coaches.

Murphy was selected as the conference Field Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year following a standout rookie season in the jumps events for the Yellowjackets. Murphy is the first Liberty League Field Athlete of the Year from URochester since Eileen Bequette was honored in 2019, one year after Kylee Bartlett received the same praise. Those three are the only League Field Performers of the Year in team history.

From a rookie perspective, Murphy becomes just the second Yellowjacket to secure Rookie of the Year honors for the outdoor season, joining Madeline O'Connell who received the accolade following the 2021 campaign.

This season, Murphy ended as the highest-finishing Yellowjacket athlete at the NCAA Division III Championships this season, ranking third in the triple jump at outdoor nationals. The first-year broke the URochester school record three times at NCAA's, jumping 12.21 meters in round two, 12.26 meters in round three and capping the meet with a 12.48 meter leap in the sixth round to secure her third place result. Murphy had the top triple jump and second-best long jump in the Liberty League this season and was a 5-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week and also secured two Field Performer of the Week honors.

Murphy was a triple-winner at the Liberty League Championships, winning both horizontal jumps and the 4x400 meter relay, along with placing second on UR's 4x100 meter relay. Her qualifying mark for NCAA's was achieved in a winning effort at the Division I William & Mary Colonial Relays, with her distance of 12.12 meters ranking ninth on the Division III Performance List. Murphy also claimed Rookie of the Year honors from the Liberty League for the 2025-26 indoor season.

Additionally, a total of 22 All-Conference awards were earned by the Yellowjacket women's track and field squad following their performance at the Liberty League Outdoor Championships in early May at St. Lawrence. 11 of the awards were First Team honors, eight were Second Team and three additional individuals claimed Honorable Mention accolades. URochester as a team was the league runner-up at the competition.

All-League honors are earned by top-3 finishers at the conference meet that took place in late February. First-place finishers are named First Team All-League, second-place finishers earn Second Team All-Conference, while third-place results garner Honorable Mention accolades.
