GENESEO, NY – Three individuals and one relay team took home first-place finishes, leading the way for the University of Rochester women's track & field team at the SUNY Geneseo Quad Meet & Multi on Saturday at the Geneseo Track & Field Complex.
Sennett Turner took home UR's first event win of the day in the 1,500 meters, pacing three 'Jackets who earned top-10 finishes. Turner ran a new PR of 4:55.15 to win the event, with
Riley Joseph running to a seventh-place finish with a new personal best of 5:13.55, while
Ella Blau finished ninth with a time of 5:20.64.
Rochester's second individual winner came in the 800 meters, where
Rita Sciortino topped the field with her 2:23.54 time, another new, personal best.
Julia Lantner finished right behind Sciortino in second place, clocking in at 2:26.98.
The Yellowjackets' final individual event win of the day came over in the field events, where
Madeline O'Connell surpassed the women's pole vault field with a 3.85m leap, hitting the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field (AARTFC) qualifier mark with a height that's currently tied for fourth in NCAA Division III.
O'Connell also helped UR to its final event win of the day in the 4x400 relay, where the reigning indoor champions ran the third-fastest time in Division III this season. O'Connell,

Ashley Heffernan and
Megan Bell took home first place with a 3:47.30 time, an AARTFC qualifier.
Bell and Chen also added individual AARTFC qualifiers earlier in the day, with Chen taking second in the 400 meters with a time of 58.91 seconds, while Bell placed second in the 200 meters, hitting a new PR with her 25.47s time. Overall, UR hit nine regional qualifier marks on the day and set 10 new personal bests.
Raquella Casserino also ran the 200 meters for Rochester and also set a new PR, finishing sixth with a time of 26.31. Earlier in the day, Casserino was UR's top finisher in the 100 meters, leading three 'Jackets to top-eight finishes. Casserino finished fifth (13.43),
Jael Ernest Fleurant came in sixth (13.54) and
Toni Adewakun placed seventh (13.72).
Ernest Fleurant got Rochester's day on the track started with the 4x100-meter relay, combining with
Maya Hatch, Casserino and Adewakun for a third-place finish and a time of 51.76s.
Elsewhere on the track,
Zoe Noble and
Abby Seamans both turned in top-six results in the 100-meter hurdles, with Noble placing fifth (18.19) and Seamans coming in sixth (19.22).
Individually, Hatch and
Christine Zong added two top-three finishes in the 400-meter hurdles, with Zong scoring second place with her 1:13.73 time, while Hatch placed third (1:16.33).
The Yellowjackets added their last three AARTFC qualifiers on the track in the 3000-meter steeplechase, as all three Rochester competitors hit regional qualifying times.
Kat Benninger paced the trio, crossing the finish line in 11:38.94, good for fourth, while both
Sab Lin (5th, 11:43.93) and
Sabrina Terando (7th, 11:56.61) set new personal bests in addition to notching AARTFC qualifiers with their times.
Over in the throwing events,
Deziree Garrick led UR in both the hammer throw and shot put, placing fifth in the hammer throw (44.74m) and third in the shot put (11.74m).
Liv Ilasz added another top-10 finish in the hammer, placing seventh with a 43.57m throw, while
Cora Rose (4th, 11.70m) and
Madison Vargas (11.17m, 7th) joined Garrick in the shot put, with Vargas setting a new PR.
Rose also led the 'Jackets in the discus with a 40.44m throw, good for second and an AARTFC qualifier, while Vargas finished close behind in third with another PR and regional-qualifying 40.41m throw.
Aimee Oszer made it three 'Jackets in the top eight with a new personal best 34.21m discus throw, while Oszer also led UR in the javelin, finishing third (33.30m) while
Cassidy Romano scored 10th with a 25.64m throw.
Alyssa Hoogs led Rochester in both the long and triple jumps, placing ninth in the long jump with a 5.14m leap and third in the triple jump with a 10.78m jump.
Ashleigh Barrett and
Quinn Taylor joined Hoogs in the top eight of the triple jump, with Barrett leaping 10.19m, good for fifth, and Taylor coming in at 9.40m, eighth overall.
In the high jump,
Lily Hubert scored for UR with a sixth-place result, successfully making it over the 1.37m bar, while
Nora Dreslin tied for eighth at 1.32m.
With the multi-events set to finish on Sunday, Rochester sits in second out of the five competing teams at the Geneseo Quad with 138 points through 19 events, with host SUNY Geneseo atop the standings with 233 points.
The Yellowjackets next host the University of Rochester Spring Twilight, their final tune-up before Liberty Leagues, on Friday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m. inside Edwin Fauver Stadium.
