Rowing Has Solid Results at Head of the Fish Regatta

SARATOGA, NY – The University of Rochester rowing team continued its fall head racing season on Saturday, competing at the annual Head of the Fish Regatta along Fish Creek.
 
The Yellowjackets secured four top-10 results out of six entries on the day, providing boats in the double, pair, varsity 8, 2nd varsity 8, varsity 4 and novice 8 competitions.
 
Rochester's double team of first-year's Katelyn Wilmarth and Sophia Fietkiewicz had the best result of the day, ending fifth among 11 teams in that event, crossing the finish with a time of 14:16.846.
 
In the other two-person race, the pair, Rochester's team of Jinx Allison and Ava Prevey-Sullivan ended seventh among 19 entries with their time of 14:18.356.
 
The URochester varsity 8 boat was tenth in 12:43.769, defeating seven other entries, including conference rivals from St. Lawrence and Ithaca. During the 2nd varsity 8 race, Rochester's boat placed 17th with a time of 14:11.852.
 
Later in the afternoon, the 'Jacket varsity 4 boat finished mid-pack, 27th of 41 in the race, crossing the finish with a time of 14:34.775.
 
The novice 8 entry closed out the days competition with an eighth place finish (of 17 teams), traveling the course in 13:48.537.
