University of Rochester football junior linebacker
Jack Diggins was named the Liberty League Football Defensive Performer of the Week following his standout performance at Buffalo State on Saturday, as announced by the conference on Monday.
Â
Diggins led a stout Yellowjackets defensive effort in a 23-3 win over Buffalo State, Rochester's second-straight Liberty League win. The junior linebacker led the team with 11 total tackles, including five solo stops and a 0.5 TFL, adding an interception, which he returned 70 yards for the opening touchdown of the game.
Â
Diggins and the Rochester defense combined to hold the Bengals to just 213 yards of total offense (63 rush, 150 pass), including over 140 yards less through the air than they were averaging entering the contest.
