University of Rochester junior defensive back
Braydon Felsinger was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week following his week nine performance on the gridiron last Saturday.
Â
Felsinger had a career day in the game against Hobart, piling up 14 tackles (8 solo), a new career-high, while accounting for two turnovers as well. The junior picked off a Hobart 4th-down pass attempt and returned it 60 yards into the Statesmen red zone and later provided Rochester's first points of the game, scoring on a 26-yard scoop-and-score fumble return touchdown.
Â
The Yellowjacket defense, led by Felsinger, combined to hold Hobart off the scoreboard in the second half, helping the team rally from a 21-0 halftime deficit to force overtime. The Statesmen ended up securing the narrow 28-21 victory in overtime.
Â
Felsinger's D3football.com Team of the Week honor is the first for the Yellowjackets this season. Rochester's last selection for this award was in week five of the 2024 season.
Â
Overall this season, Felsinger has had a terrific campaign, piling up 74 total tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, 4 pass break-ups, 1 fumble recovery and 1 forced fumble.
