The University of Rochester men's tennis team got off to a fast start and rolled to a 7-0 victory over visiting Houghton University on Friday evening at the Goergen Athletic Center.

The Yellowjackets move to 6-4 with the victory, while Houghton drops to 1-5 on the season.

Four members from Rochester were double winners on the night.
Ethan Samora,
Alan Wang,
Andy Liu and
Krish Vennam were the four posting victories in both singles and doubles play.

In the match, UR swept the three doubles matches to earn the opening team point. At first singles, Samora and Chu were 6-1 winners over Nolan Zach and Graham Cook.

Surya Rajamani and Wang played at number two and were 6-4 winners for Rochester, defeating Preston Tobolski and Samuel Garay to clinch the doubles point for UR.

Making it a doubles sweep were Vennam and Liu at three, winning 6-3 over Jonas Likens and Jason Murphy.

In singles, the Yellowjackets posted a dominant effort, not dropping a set in all six matches. Three players, Vennam at one, Liu and three and
Liam Rieger at six, didn't even drop a game, winning 6-0, 6-0.

The clinching point was won by Samora at number four, as he won 6-1, 6-1. UR's other winners in singles were Wang at two (6-1, 6-3) and
Joseph Xia at number five. Xia won the opening set 6-1 and was up 4-0 in set two when his opponent retired from the match.

Rochester's next match is Thursday at Hobart College, with play starting at 4 pm.
