UR Women Keep Rolling with Win over Oswego

The University of Rochester women's tennis team continued its stellar play at home this season, dispatching visiting Oswego State 7-0 in non-conference tennis action on Sunday morning at the Goergen Athletic Center.

Rochester extends its winning streak to four straight, all by 7-0 scores, and moves its record to 10-4 overall on the years. The Yellowjackets remain undefeated at home, sitting at 8-0 at the Goergen Athletic Center tennis courts in 2025.

The Yellowjackets defeat of the Lakers was just the second of the year for the visitors, with Oswego's record falling to 13-2.

UR breezed through doubles, securing the one point from the doubles competition in less than 30 minutes. The Yellowjackets combined to drop just one game over the three matches. At one, Josephine Libby and Katie Yang were 6-1 winners against Emily DeLuca and Leah Bell.

The second and third doubles matches were 6-0 scores in favor of Rochester. Lauren Kallas and Neha Dania made up UR's second doubles pair, while Sanjana Karnam and Lilly Caldwell were the third duo for the Yellowjackets.

All six singles matches were straight set wins for Rochester, with Yang quickly putting the 'Jackets up 2-0 following a 6-0, 6-0 decision at number one.

Caldwell won the next match, topping DeLuca 6-2, 6-0 at four, with Karnam securing the clinching point with her 6-2, 6-1 win over Avery Borman.

With the team match clinched, UR kept rolling along with Dania topping Bell 6-3, 6-0 at number three. At five, Sahithi Mathukumilli defeated Isabella Eason by the same score, with Dalia Emad earning her first career dual match win at number six, topping Kate Hayes 6-0, 6-1.

Rochester looks to continue its hot streak next weekend, with the Yellowjackets playing matches on the road at TNCJ (Saturday) and New York University (Sunday).
