WORCESTER, MA – The University of Rochester rowing team wrapped up its 2024-25 season, competing at the National Invitational Rowing Championships (NIRC) along Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday afternoon.
UR had its two varsity eight entries compete in the competition which annually features some of the top Division III rowing programs from across the country.
Rochester's varsity eight boat started its day with a time of 7:25.652 over the course during the morning session, sitting 18th in the team standings.
Later in the afternoon, Rochester beat three other programs, moving up to 15th place overall, finishing third in the third level final, crossing the finish in 7:02.232.
In the 2V racing, it was a similar situation, as the Yellowjackets placed in 17th place, improving its placing and time from the morning racing during the afternoon finals.
During the morning session, the Yellowjackets ranked 18th in 8:10.082, but in the later racing during Sunday's competition, UR finished over 18 seconds faster, clocking in at 7:51.916, moving up one spot in the standings.
