Seven individuals from the University of Rochester women's rowing team were recognized by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) as CRCA Scholar Athletes for the 2024-25 season, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Rochester's honorees include seniors Avery Alperin, Anushka Aritharan, Aviva Bock, juniors Elizabeth Carleton, Kennedy Leininger and Ava Prevey-Sullivan and sophomore Julia Tricomi.

Four of the individuals, Alperin, Artiharan, Bock and Leininger are CRCA Scholar Athlete's for the second straight year and all seven of the honorees were previously honored this spring as Liberty League All-Academic Team members.

In order to qualify for CRCA Scholar Athlete accolades, individuals must be in their second, third or fourth year of athletic eligibility, must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher through the Fall 2024 semester and have either rowed in 75% of a team's spring races or in an NCAA eligible boat at the conference championship.

Overall, the CRCA is recognizing over 1,000 student-athletes across all three levels of NCAA women's rowing, including lightweight boats. Division III represents over 200 total honorees.
