University of Rochester graduate goalie Sydney Moore was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week, as announced by the UAA on Tuesday.
 
Moore provided a clean sheet in goal in Rochester's season-opening win over SUNY Cortland on Friday. The graduate student made five total saves (9 shots against) in the 2-0 shutout. She played all 90 minutes between the pipes. Three of Moore's saves came in the second half, with UR holding on to a two-goal lead.
