The University of Rochester received two honors from the Liberty League on Monday as the conference announced its weekly Performers of the Week.

Junior defender
Cassidy Romano was selected as the conference field hockey Defensive Performer of the Week, while first-year quarterback
Shawn Bellenger was tabbed as the football Rookie of the Week. Rochester has swept both these awards for the third week in a row (four straight for field hockey) in the early part of the 2025 fall season.

Romano was a key defender for Rochester in a pair of shutout victories over the last week. Overall, she played 119 of a possible 122 minutes on the week, helping hold SUNY Cortland to nine shot attempts (3 on goal) and five corners on Wednesday. Later in the week, UR's defense held Oswego State to zero shot attempts and no penalty corners. Additionally, Romano provided a defensive save in the overtime 1-0 Cortland victory and chipped in an assist during Friday's 4-0 triumph over Oswego.

Bellenger had the best game of his rookie season so far for Rochester on Saturday during URochester's 28-21 win over St. John Fisher. The quarterback finished a perfect 8-for-8 passing for 65 yards and a touchdown. He guided Rochester to a 6-play, 72-yard TD drive, ending with a 15-yard TD pass to put the Yellowjackets up 13-0 in the second quarter.
