NEW YORK – Two players from the University of Rochester squash team wrapped up their competition at the College Squash Association Individual Championships on Saturday, competing in consolation brackets.

Dhirren Rajarathinam and first-year
Gilberto Aceves Moreno were the participants and played in the Pool Plate consolation brackets after falling in Friday's round of 64.
On Saturday, Rajarathinam was victorious in his consolation quarterfinal matchup against Devon Osborne of Amherst. The URochester captain earned a sweep in three games, winning 11-9, 11-5 and 11-5.
In the consolation semifinals, Rajarathinam battled Columbia's Franklyn Smith and fell in a tight match that lasted four games. Smith opened with an 11-8 win before Rajarathinam leveled the score with an 11-6 win in game two. In the third Smith posted an 11-7 win and eventually took the win following a marathon 17-15 win in game four.
During another consolation bracket quarterfinal, Aceves Moreno took on Yuri Pollak Pelbart of Drexel. The match started strong for the Yellowjacket first-year, as Aceves Moreno earned a 12-10 win to go up early. In the second Pelbart won 11-8 to even the match. Pelbart's momentum continued into the final two games, winning 11-3 and 11-5 to earn the four game victory.
URochester continues the squash regular season on Saturday February 7th with an away match at Hobart College.
