As we enter 2026 and the start of the spring semester, we have a lot to celebrate thus far this academic year. Our teams have enjoyed great success, highlighted by NCAA qualification in women's soccer and three individuals in men's cross country. URochester welcomed new students to their rosters, and our coaches continued their work in the next recruiting cycle. Our Early Decision activity has been very productive, ensuring that we continue to strengthen the University by attracting the best students from around the country.

We have achieved a new milestone with a gift from Tyler '88 and Karen Zachem. This gift establishes our first head coaching chair, creating the Michael & Connie Neer Family Head Coach of Men's Basketball.
Meanwhile, we are closing in on establishing the Klimschot Endowment, created by former teammates, friends, and parents in memory of Jim Klimschot '78. This endowment will support an assistant men's basketball position and recognizes the importance of our assistant coaches in our educational work.
We have two anniversaries to celebrate in 2026 – the 125th Anniversary of men's basketball (February 6) and the 100th anniversary of Track & Field (April 18 & 19) as varsity sports. We will be welcoming many alumni and friends to campus for events to mark the occasion. We would love to have you join us if you are able.
Along with the winter and spring seasons, we are readying ourselves for our annual March Matchness Challenge (March 24-26). This is a great time to contribute to the annual fund of your choice to support our teams. It has become an important tradition as we strive to develop facilities and programs that reflect the quality of our national peers, and continue to position us to attract and retain the very best students to further our educational goals. Thanks in advance for your support of this effort.
I wish you and your family the very best in 2026 and look forward to your continued involvement in the life of our great University. Thanks for being part of our team!
Meliora!
