The University of Rochester rowing program has a new assistant coach, as Adrien Reidy has joined the staff as of March 5, 2026.

Reidy comes to the University with a wealth of experience in the rowing world, most recently working as Executive Director of club management at the Genesee Waterways Center and Master's Rowing Coach. She has spent the last six years with the Genesee Waterways Center, also serving in a variety of other rowing coaching roles.

URochester's newest assistant also has coached crew at Our Lady of Mercy high school in Rochester, the Nardin Academy in Buffalo and the Fairport Crew Club in Fairport, New York.

Additionally, Reidy has US Rowing Level 3 coaching certification, is a US Rowing Para Technical Classifier and has been a competitive rower in Master's divisions since 2018. She was a collegiate rower at the University of Buffalo, being a walk-on member of the club team in 1996 before moving up to varsity for the remaining three years of her career.

Reidy also is a Physical Therapist and owns her own company, Rowing on the Square, addressing the rehabilitation needs of Rochester-area rowers.

She earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Buffalo in 2000 and later earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2006 from Boston University.

Reidy joins the Yellowjackets coaching staff with Curren as its current interim Director. Curren also has a lengthy rowing coaching resume to his name, serving within the sport for over 30 years. He has spent time with Hobart and William Smith Colleges, the US Olympic Development Program while also serving as Director of Rowing at the Genesee Waterways Center and Pittsford Crew.

"I am excited to get a chance to work with Adrien again," says Curren. "She's experienced, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and brings a lot of empathy and insight to her coaching. She will be a great addition to the staff."

The spring rowing season gets underway next week on a Spring Break training trip to Clemson, South Carolina. The first official competition of 2026 is a tri-meet at Ithaca College with RIT on April 4th. URochester is ranked #15 in the preseason poll in Division III.
