Director of Rowing and Head Women's Rowing Coach
DJ Civiletti will be stepping down from his position at the University of Rochester. His last day on the River Campus will be December 12.

Civiletti served in this position for the last two and a half seasons after beginning is time at URochester as an assistant coach with the rowing program.

"I will miss working alongside these fantastic athletes," says Civiletti. "I am grateful for the support and community I found among the staff. I'm excited to see what the team accomplishes next."

In his first two seasons as head of the program, Rochester's women secured multiple medals at the Head of the Genesee, competed at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta and placed in the top-4 multiple times at the Liberty League Championships.

URochester was nationally ranked within Division III in both seasons. Four individuals were named All-Liberty League, 17 received CRCA Scholar-Athlete awards and 28 were members of the Liberty League All-Academic Team.

Ethan Curren, who has extensive coaching experience within the sport of rowing, has been named Interim Director of Rowing at the University, officially starting his role on December 15. Curren previously has been on the Yellowjacket coaching staff as an assistant coach, joining URochester in 2023-24.

Curren had spent time serving as Associate Head Coach of the Hobart and William Smith Colleges rowing program and also worked as an assistant with the Hobart men's program for two years.

He brings a wealth of experience to the Rochester staff, having previously worked in the United States Olympic Development Program while also serving as Director of Rowing at both the Genesee Waterways Center and Pittsford Crew.

Over his 30-plus year coaching career, Curren has helped teams to 38 gold medals at the USRowing Club National Championships, 5 golds at the Youth National Championships and 7 first-place and 11 total medals at the Head of the Charles Regatta.
