The University of Rochester received honors for three athletes from the Liberty League on Monday as the conference announced its Performers of the Week.
 
Senior defender Cassidy Romano was selected for the conference Field Hockey Defensive Performer of the Week, along with senior Julia Tricomi and sophomore Erin Seitzer as they were selected as the Women's Rowing Boat of the Week.
 
Romano led the Yellowjackets defense to a pair of shutout victories over St. John Fisher and Susquehanna last week, improving the team to 5-1 overall on the season. Romano played all 60 minutes in both contests. In the win over St. John Fisher, the UR defense held the Cardinals to just three shots (two on goal) and four penalty corners, with Romano adding her first goal of the season late in the third quarter. On Saturday in their win over Susquehanna, the Rochester defense limited the River Hawks to four shots (one on goal) and three corners.
 
Tricomi and Seitzer were the top finishing women's pair boat at the Ithaca College Cayuga Sprints on Sunday, ranking fourth of 29 total entries to open the season for the Yellowjackets. The duo competed in the pair division, where they posted a 2K time trial of 8:16.2 in the morning session and later posted a 1K sprint time of 4:06.2 (gets doubled for final result) finishing the day out with a total time of 16:28.7 overall. Tricomi and Seitzer placed Rochester three seconds ahead of the runner-up pair squad. UR's entry was first of seven in its division and even had faster times than all the women's double entrants, which is typically a faster boat class.
