She had a 0.54 ERA across 13 innings pitched, allowing 6 hits, 4 runs (1 earned) with 7 walks and 13 strikeouts. Opponents hit just .125 during the week against the senior.
Â
She tossed a 5-inning, 2-hit shutout with 6 strikeouts on Monday versus SUNY Geneseo and then combined to throw 8 innings in a DH sweep of RIT on Saturday. She earned the win in game one, throwing 5 innings allowing 3 hits, 4 runs (1 earned) with 6 more strikeouts.
Â
Laygo secured her second straight softball Performer of the Week honor after her strong performance on the diamond, helping URochester softball go 4-0 during the week. The junior hit .600 (9-for-15) with 8 runs scored, 1 double, 1 triple, 2 home runs and a team-high 8 RBI over the four games. She added two steals, slugged 1.200 and was 30-for-30 on fielding attempts at first base.
Â
Laygo had multiple hits and multiple runs scored in every game, adding 4 RBI against Geneseo (game 1) on Monday and 3 RBI against RIT (game 1) on Saturday, crushing home runs in each of those contests.
Â
Chen, the Liberty League women's track Performer of the Week, had an outstanding weekend for URochester, competing at the Division I William & Mary Colonial Relays on Friday and Saturday. The junior posted the Division III top-time in the 400 meter hurdles so far this season, running a new UR school record of 1:00.13, placing first among 17 competitors at the DI meet.
Â
Chen also ran on the second-place 4x400 meter relay that posted a 3:50.51 time, ranking #5 in Division III this season. Her last effort over the weekend was the 100 meter hurdles, where Chen posted a time of 14.71 seconds in her first collegiate effort in that event. It finished her in fourth place at the meet and ranks top-25 in Division III at this point in 2026. All three times were AARTFC qualifiers.
Â
Murphy was selected as the conference's women's Field Performer of the Week following a meet where she posted two top-5 NCAA Division III marks at the William & Mary Colonial Relays over the weekend. The first-year is number two in the triple jump with a 12.12 meter leap and also ranks fifth on the D3 list in the 4x400 meter relay, running on UR's team that posted a time of 3:50.51. Murphy also competed in the 200 meters, running 26.61 seconds.
Â
Her triple jump distance set a new school-record and was good enough to win the event at the D1 meet, while the relay time placed URochester as event runner-up, with both of those marks being good enough to qualify for regionals.
Â
Nicholls was selected as the Liberty League men's track and field Rookie of the Week. He competed in two events at the William & Mary Colonial Relays over the weekend, helping the Yellowjackets to a top-10 team result at the Division I meet. The rookie finished fifth among 18 athletes in the pole vault competition, clearing 4.62 meters, the current #37 mark on the Division III performance list and AARTFC qualifier. Nicholls also ran the 110 meter hurdles at W&M, ending 12th place with a 16.04 second time.
