Biography

At UR 2013-14: Senior finished off solid career, posting a 15-10 record in singles and 18-9 doubles mark...Ended 4-year stint with 49 singles victories and 59 doubles wins...Played from positions 1 through 4 in singles and all three spots in doubles...Earned match clinching point three times during the year, with one coming on senior day against RIT on Apr. 9...Led UR with 10 matches as a double-winner...Was the A Flight singles champion at the SLU Fall Classic and runner-up in A Flight doubles...Teammed with Julian Danko to reach the quarterfinals of the doubles bracket at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships...Named to UAA's All-Academic squad.

At UR 2012-13: The junior was a fixture in UR's top 3 in singles all season while also playing the majority of the year at 1st doubles...Posted 14-11 singles record and 18-12 doubles record...Teammed with Julian Danko and won the A Flight doubles competition at the SLU Fall Classic on Sep. 15-16...Posted a strong 6-2, 6-2 win over Brandeis's Steven Milo, the #6 regionally ranked player by the ITA to close the UAA Championships...Was an 11-time double winner on the year...Honored for efforts in the classroom by being named to UAA's All-Academic team.

At UR 2011-12: Got sophomore season off to a great start achieving a 7-2 singles record and 6-4 doubles record during the fall portion of the schedule...Won the Flight A singles title at the St. Lawrence Invitational after wins of 6-3, 6-1; 3-6, 6-4 (10-3); and 7-6 (3), 7-6 (4)...Also reached doubles final at the same event with partner Brian Rice...Borovcanin and Rice also combined to reach the quarterfinals of the ITA Regional Championships in the doubles bracket...Compiled 4-8 singles record and 5-7 doubles record in the spring including being a double winner in matches on 3/7 (Roberts Wes.), 3/13 (Chapman), 3/24 (Ithaca) and 3/29 (Nazareth)...Finished year with 11-10 singles and 11-11 doubles record primarily playing at #1 singles and doubles.

At UR 2010-11: As a freshman posted a 9-16 record while playing all 22 dual matches at #1 singles for the Yellowjackets...Also, was 12-13 in doubles play playing at the #1 and #2 positions.

HS: Attended the Nichols School in Buffalo, NY where he earned five letters in tennis for the Vikings...Played primarily at 1st singles and was named co-captain his senior season...Was a three-time ('06, '07, '08) MVP and MIP in '09 and '10...Was a first team All-Conference selection and won the conference singles title four straight seasons...Helped his team to five consecutive Monsignor Martin Catholic Conference titles.
