At UR 2019: Showed tremendous power in the middle of the Yellowjacket lineup for the second straight season, ending the year with a .288 average (42-146), including 7 doubles, 3 triples, 10 home runs and 32 RBI...Scored 35 runs and had 85 total bases, leading to a .582 slugging percentage...Led UR with 27 walks and had a .404 on-base percentage...Ranked 1st in the Liberty League in walks and home runs...Was 38th in Division III with 10 homers, the 3rd most in a single-season at Rochester...Also, top-10 in the conference in triples, runs, slugging percentage, RBI and fielding assists (79)...Recorded 12 multi-hit games and had a team-best 10 multi-RBI contests, including driving in 5 on two home runs in the Liberty League Championship winner-take-all game 7 against Clarkson on May 11...Saw time in five games on the mound as well, throwing 5 perfect innings of work with 6 strikeouts and 1 save...Ends career with 14 home runs and 70 walks, both 6th all-time in UR baseball history.
At UR 2018: Really flourished during junior season, earning Honorable Mention All-Liberty League honors following the season...Ended up starting all 36 games for Rochester and finished with a .336 (45-134) average, hitting in the middle of the UR lineup...Added 11 doubles, 3 triples, 3 home runs, 33 runs scored and 38 RBI, leading the team in runs and RBI...Had a .426 on-base percentage and slugged at a .530 clip...Was member of the Liberty League All-Tournament team after recording 10 hits, 5 RBI and 6 runs scored in UR's run in the tournament, earning Liberty League Performer of the Week honors the next week...Recorded extra-inning walk-off hit against Union on May 12, forcing a winner-take-all final game to decide the league champion...Ranked 3rd in the conference in RBI and walks, 5th in runs and sac flies (4) and was 6th in triples, 8th in home runs and 10th in doubles...Led Rochester with 12 games driving in multiple runs, including a season-best four against St. Lawrence on Apr. 7.
At UR 2017: Saw a bump in playing time as a sophomore, appeared in 27 games (26 starts) for UR...Hit .284 (25-88) on the year with 16 runs, 16 RBI, 3 doubles, 3 triples and 1 home run...Added 15 walks and 2 HBP for a .396 on-base percentage...First on UR in triples, tied for first in RBI and was third in slugging, on-base pct., runs and walks...Hit .370 with runners in scoring position...Had best game of the season against Clarkson on Apr. 1, going 3-5 with a double and six RBI...Finished the year ranked tied for third in the Liberty League in triples...Had six multi-hit games and three multi-RBI performances.
At UR 2016:Â The freshman appeared in 13 games (7 starts) in first season at Rochester...Hit 2-24 (.083) at the plate with 2 runs and 3 RBI...Added six walks and one HBP for a .290 on-base percentage and was 1-1 on stolen base attempts...Perfect 1.000 fielding percentage handling 45 chances.
HS:Â Attended Saratoga Springs HS where he lettered in baseball (4x) and basketball (2x) for the Blue Streaks...Named team captain as a senior...Batted .333 lifetime in four year varsity career with a 9-5 record on the mound and a 2.75 ERA...Was a 2-time Honorable Mention Suburban Council selection...Team was Sectional and Regional Champions in 2015 reaching State finals...Earned Nick Alex Baseball Award and Mike Beach Memorial Award while also being presented with the Raymond Waldron Outstanding Athlete Award...Additionally, was a US Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete.
Personal:Â Dad, Michael Herman '92 (gr.), played baseball collegiately at Clarkson University, then attended graduate school at the University of Rochester.
