Biography

At UR 2013: Was once again the top pitcher for UR, appearing in nine games (starting 8) as a senior...Compiled a 2.37 ERA and 3-2 record in 49.1 innings...Allowed 41 hits, 15 runs (13 ER) and 18 walks while striking out 40...Threw three complete games on the season...Was named Honorable Mention All-Liberty League after a season which saw him rank in 9th in the conference in strikeouts, 10th in ERA and opponents batting average (.234)...Threw 7-inning complete game allowing just four hits and one unearned run with seven K's against Rensselaer on Mar. 26...Named to Liberty League All-Academic team and was a Garnish Scholar Athlete.

At UR 2012: Emerged as the Yellowjackets ace on the mound his junior season, with the Liberty League naming him the Conference Pitcher of the Year for his performance during the year...Also earned honors from the UAA as an All-Conference 2nd Team member and was a 2nd Team All-NY Regional selection by D3baseball.com...He was 5-2 on the season while earning an ERA of 3.18 in 62.1 innings pitched...He struck out a team high 49 batters and held opponents to a .223 batting average...In his innings on the hill, Menke allowed only 50 hits, 28 runs (22 earned) and walked 19...In his first start of the year, he went toe-to-toe with Wash U's Stephen Bonser in a thrilling 1-0 extra inning affair, where he pitched 8 1/3 innings allowing only five hits and one run while striking out seven and walking none...Also pitched two other seven inning complete games on the year, both ending in three-hit shutouts (4/13 at Clarkson, 5/5 at RIT)...For the regular season, Menke ranked eighth in the Liberty League in ERA, second in opposing batting average, third in strikeouts, third in wins and sixth in innings pitched.

At UR 2011: In his sophomore year, he finished with a .298 batting average...Saw action in 26 games and started 25...His 8 doubles ranked fourth on the team....As a pitcher, he went 2-3 in 36 innings of work, while striking out 31 batters.

HS:  Attended Highland Park HS where he played baseball and ran cross-country...Was co-captain of baseball team his senior season...Achieved All-Conference honors (baseball) his junior and senior years while leading the Giants to a 50-16 record those years, the winningest two-year span in school history...Had the 3rd highest single season batting average in school history (.467)...Academically, was member of the National Honor Society and a four year high honor roll student.
