Men Named Top Seed in ECAC Playoffs

The men's soccer team has been selected as the top seed for the ECAC Northeast Regional Championships.

Rochester will host the tournament on Saturday and Sunday, November 13-14 at Edwin Fauver Stadium. Admission is free.

As the number one seed, the Yellowjackets will host the winner of Wednesday's opening round match between Alfred University and St. John Fisher College (at Fisher).

Second-seeded SUNY Plattsburgh will play the winner of third-seeded Brockport against sixth-seeded Union. The Rochester game will be played at 1 pm Saturday; the Plattsburgh game at 3:30 pm.

Saturday winners meet at 1 pm Sunday for the ECAC Championship.

Rochester has won four consecutive ECAC Northeast Regional Championships. The Yellowjackets defeated Nazareth in 2000 at Fredonia, beat Plattsburgh at Plattsburgh in 2001, topped Plattsburgh in 2002 at Fauver Stadium, and defeated SUNY Geneseo in OT at Hobart College in 2003.
