The women's swimming and diving team improved to 4-2 in dual meets this year with a 160-138 victory over visiting Brandeis University in the Goergen Center pool on Saturday.
Leading the way for the women was Kari Joyce winning three individuals and one relay. Joyce won the 100 Back (1:03.32), 200 Back (2:15.71), 500 free (5:24.26) and was part of the exhibition freestyle relay who recorded the fastest time. Michele Gruen, Jill Endres and Erin Szajta joined forces with Joyce to record a time of 1:44.70 in the 200 freestyle relay.
Also recording wins were Michele Gruen in the 1000 (11:01.02) and 100 (57.66) freestyle, Danielle Scherry 200 free (2:03.58) and 200 fly (2:20.58), Jill Endres 50 free (26.30), Mary Carol Karl 200 breaststroke (2:42.31), and Patricia McHale on the 1 meter board.
Joyce, Becky Fallon and Megan Savoury finished 1-3 in the 100 and 200 backstroke to capture the win for the Yellowjackets.
It was a well-rounded performance. After the Thanksgiving break, the Yellowjackets head for the Liberty League championships at RPI on December 2-3.
