Women Win Four Events vs. Cortland

Rochester's women's swimming and diving team won four individual events and had four second place finishes in a 173-127 loss to visiting Cortland State on Friday evening.

Corinne Lampe won the 100 yard freestyle (11:10.98) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:29.49). She was third in the 200 yard butterfly (2:20.98).

Rochester's other individual winners were Megan Lawless in the 200 yard freestyle (2:01.51) and Val Atwood in the 100 yard backstroke (1:00.67). Lawless won a thriller in the 200 free as she edged Jessica Evans by two one-hundredths of a second (2:01.53).

Karen Meess was second in the 100 yard backstroke (1:02.83) and third in the 200 backstroke (2:17.90). Atwood was second in the 200 backstroke (2:16.88).

Cailee Caldwell was second in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:10.65), second in the 500 freestyle (5:31.33), and third in the 200 freestyle (2:02.18). She swam on the 400 free relay which finished second (3:48.13). The other 400 free relay people were Dayna Jacob, Lawless, and Atwood. Jacob was second in the 50 free (:25.78).

On the diving boards, Megan Braun finished second on the three meter board (214.75) with Rachel deLahunta third (212.90) and Sara Spielman fourth (211.25). On the one meter board, deLahunta was second (208.85) and Spielman third (205.10).
