PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Rochester won both boards and claimed first place in the final two events to seal a 152-127 women's swimming and diving victory at Nazareth College on Wednesday evening. The meet was originally scheduled for January 12, but postponed when winter storms in the southeast kept Nazareth from returning home on schedule.
Corinne Lampe won the 400 individual medley in 5:29.34 and the Yellowjackets closed the meet by winning the 800 freestyle relay in 9:21.53. The relay swimmers were Rachel Boldt, Dayna Jacob, Kathryn Lukens, and Deb Korzun.
Lampe was a double winner. She won the 800 freestyle early in the meet (9:57.45). She was also second in the 400 freestyle (4:48.79). Val Atwood was first in the 50 backstroke (:32.01) and the 100 backstroke I1:08.82).
Rochester's other event winners came in the diving well. Rachel deLahunta won the one meter event (186.65) with Sara Spielman second (182.15) and Megan Braun third (178.75). On the three meter board, Braun took first place (193.65) with deLahunta second (190.30) and Spielman third (183.80).
Atwood and Lampe swam on the runnerup 200 medley relay with Jessica Indyk and Jacob (2:09.66). Emily Scott had a pair of runnerup finishes – in the 50 free (:28.67) and the 50 fly (:32.49). Jacob was second in the 100 free (1:03.25) while Indyk was second in the 50 breaststroke (:37.77).
