DEERFIELD BEACH, FL - The University of Rochester's women's swimming and diving team won two individual events plus a relay in a dual meet vs. Hamilton College while on a winter training trip in Florida.
Since both teams were training in the same general area, the meet was created. Hamilton won, 138-105.
Cailee Caldwell and Dayna Jacob won individual events and swam on the winning 200 freestyle relay. Caldwell was first in the 200 freestyle in 2:03.36. She finished second in the 500 freestyle (5:36.92) with Liz Subjeck third (5:40.78).
Jacob won the 50 freestyle in :25.67. Emily Scott finished second in the event (:26.03). They both swam on the winning 200 freestyle relay with Val Atwood and Caldwell. The relay was timed in 1:44.47.
Atwood produced runnerup finishes in three events. She was second in the 50 backstroke (:28.81), the 100 backstroke (1:03.53), and the 200 IM (2:22.131). Karen Meess was third in the 50 backstroke (:29.33) and the 100 backstroke (1:09.50).
Jacob was second in the 100 freestyle (:58.07). Meg Lawless was third (:58.23), and Scott finished fourth (:58.96).
The Yellowjackets will come north and swim twice next week in the Rochester area. Rochester competes at Nazareth on January 12 and is home vs. Cortland on January 14.
