Chicago defeated Rochester, 25-17, 25-14, 25-12 to start the championships on Friday. UC was the regular-season UAA champion. NYU defeated Rochester, 25-18, 25-12, 25-15, in the consolation match.

The pairing against Brandeis for seventh place gives UR a chance to beat a team that defeated Rochester in the first UAA round robin earlier this year. Brandeis won a five-setter on its own court, 12-25, 25-13, 25-13, 18-25, 8-15.
