University of Rochester Tennis Assistant Coach Margarita Kotok has been honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as the 2019 Division III Northeast Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year.

Kotok was one of four men's assistant coaches in Division III, one representing each region, to be selected.

She just completed her second season with the Yellowjackets, after joining the program in 2017-18 following a four-year career playing at the University at Buffalo.

Kotok and the Rochester men had a tremendous season on the court in 2018-19.  UR's men's team finished with a 12-8 overall record and achieved a ranking in the NCAA Division III top-40 for nearly the entire spring semester.  The Yellowjackets peaked at #32 nationally and also got as high as #11 in the northeast region.

UR burst out to a 9-0 record in dual match competition to start the season, the second best in school history and longest since 1962-63.  Rochester ended the season with three players earning All-UAA accolades in the University Athletic Association, including senior Masaru Fujimaki who was Rochester's first 1st Team honoree since 2003-04.

Kotok also aids the Rochester women's team in her current role.  On the women's side, the Yellowjackets finished with a 6-10 record overall and had one All-UAA player, with senior Camila Garcia earning 2nd Team accolades.
