Eight Rochester student-athletes representing four spring sports have earned weekly honors from the Liberty League for events through April 15. The list includes three softball players, two baseball players, two golfers, and one runner from the men's track & field team.

The softball honorees are junior

Colby Cruser as the Co-Rookie of the Week.

Nishant Datta as the Performer of the Week and first-year
Gary Pan as the Rookie of the Week. The eighth honoree is junior
Scott Sikorski, a middle-distance runner for the men's outdoor track & field team. In terms of individual result, Sikorski had the best finish of any of the honorees.

Scott Sikorski (TRACK Performer) – JR, Chicago, IL (Nazareth Academy)
Sikorski produced two top-15 NCAA marks over the weekend at the Division I Princeton University Larry Ellis Invitational. The junior was the top Division III finisher in both the 1500 meters and 800 meters in back-to-back days. On Friday in the 1500 meters, Sikorski shattered his personal-best, finishing in 3:46.84, now ranking #4 in Division III and #2 in UR school history. He was 19th of 53 runners, nearly all of which were Division I competition. The next day, Sikorski clocked in at 1:52.32, the current #12 time in Division III. He was fourth in a field of 42 individuals, setting another new personal best and current #3 time in UR school history. Both times were All-Atlantic Region qualifiers and are ranked #1 in the Liberty League this season.

Softball swept two doubleheaders in the past week, defeating RPI, 7-1 and 5-4, in Troy on April 11, then outscoring RIT, 24-12, and 12-0, on April 14. The four wins give Rochester an overall record of 12-12, 6-0 in the Liberty League, heading into this week's games.

Hannah Keiper (SB Performer) – JR, IF, Chester Springs, PA (Bishop Shanahan)
Keiper batted .429 (6-for-14) over a 4-0 week for Rochester. The junior added 2 doubles, 2 home runs, 4 runs and a team-best 12 RBI over the wins. She added two walks and one HBP for a .500 on-base percentage and combined for a 1.000 slugging percentage (14 total bases). Keiper tied a UR single-game record with seven RBI in Friday's game one win over RIT, going 3-for-5 with 2 runs, 2 doubles and a home run. In Monday's DH sweep over RPI, she finished with multiple RBI in each of UR's wins.

Abbie Biggs (SB Pitcher) – JR, P, Lakeway, TX (Lake Travis)
Biggs posted a 2-0 record for Rochester during UR's 4-0 week overall in Liberty League games. The junior hurler ended the week with a 0.81 ERA across 8.2 innings, allowing 7 hits, 4 runs (1 earned) and 4 walks while striking out 3. She earned wins in both ends of the DH sweep over RPI on Monday, tossing 2.1 innings of hitless relief in game one (a 7-1 win), before starting game two and going 6.1 innings allowing just one earned run (4 total) in the 5-4 Rochester victory.

Bailey Nicholoff (SB Rookie) – FY, OF, Chicago, IL (Northside College Prep)
Nicholoff batted .600 (9-for-15) with 5 doubles, 8 runs and 7 RBI in Rochester's 4-0 week. The UR rookie added a .933 slugging percentage, 1 walk and 1 HBP for a .611 on-base percentage and was 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts across four starts. Nicholoff had multiple hits in three of the four games, going a combined 6-for-9 against RIT on Friday. She drove in four and scored four runs in game one against the Tigers and helped UR complete the sweep with 2 doubles, 2 runs and 2 RBI in game two. On Monday against RPI, Nicholoff scored what proved to be the game-winning run in game two's top of the 7th inning, a 5-4 victory.

Baseball was 5-0 during the week to boost its record to 24-5. The Yellowjackets defeated Hamilton College early in the week, then held on for a 4-3 win at #21 SUNY Oswego (the second win this season over the Lakers). UR closed the week with a 3-0 sweep of St. Lawrence in Liberty League play.

Trevor Van Allen (BASE Pitcher) – SR, P, Greenland, NH (Portsmouth)
Van Allen earned two wins for Rochester during a 5-0 week on the diamond. The senior was the opener in a mid-week contest at #21 Oswego State and earned the win going one scoreless inning with one strikeouts. Van Allen followed that up with a terrific outing on Saturday against conference foe St. Lawrence, going a career-high tying 7 innings while allowing just one hit and no runs while walking three and striking out eight. Rochester earned a 17-4 win and Van Allen lowered his ERA to 2.08 on the season, cracking the top-70 in Division III. His fifth and sixth wins also put the senior in the top-20 in the nation.

Colby Cruser (BASE Rookie) – FY, P/DH, Littleton, CO (Chatfield)
Cruser tossed a gem of a game on Saturday against Liberty League foe St. Lawrence, allowing just one hit and one run over 6-plus innings over work. The first-year lefty took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, but came away with a no-decision after yielding his lone hit to the first batter of the final frame. The runner scored, but Rochester ended up walking off the Saints 3-2 in the bottom of the 7th for the win. Cruser walked one and struck out eight in the game, lowering his season ERA to 1.88. With the bat, Cruser added a 1-for-4 game on Sunday against the Saints, driving in three runs and scoring twice.

In their last three competitions, the Yellowjacket golfers finished seventh of 30 at the Jekyll Island Invitational in Georgia, second of 17 at the Hershey Cup in Pennsylvania, and first of eight at the Fred B. Kravetz Invitational.

Nishant Datta (GOLF LL Performer) – SR, Broomfield, CO (Peak to Peak Charter School)
Datta captured his first career victory, earning medalist honors at the UR Fred Kravetz Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The senior fired rounds of 73 and 75 to finish at +5 (148) for the 36-hole event at Irondequoit Country Club and Oak Hill Country Club. Datta's win helped propel the Yellowjackets to the team title, posting a score of 599, defeating runner-up and #5 Wittenberg by four strokes. Overall, eight teams and 42 individuals competed in the tournament. Datta led the tournament in both par-3 scoring (1-under) and par-5 scoring (3-under) and ranked second in the field with eight total birdies in the event.

Gary Pan (GOLF LL Rookie) – FY, Shanghai, China (Xiwai International School)
Pan helped Rochester to the team title at the UR Fred Kravetz Invitational over the weekend, placing tied for fourth of 42 golfers. Pan shot rounds of 78 and 72 to finish the event at +7 overall (150) for 36-holes. The first-year golfer ranked tied for second in the field with 23 pars over his two rounds, while he also finished fourth in the field in par-4 scoring (+7). Rochester as a team captured the tournament title with scores of 307-292=599 to win by four strokes over #5 Wittenberg on the leaderboard. Overall, eight teams competed in the event.
