GENEVA, NY – It was an excellent day first day of competition for the University of Rochester women's tennis team at the William Smith Mary Hosking Invitational, as several players are still alive in the main draw of competition at the two-day tournament.

Leading Rochester was sophomore Josephine Libby and first-year Jasmin Toor who were undefeated in both singles and doubles.

Libby won a pair of matches in the A Flight singles competition, while Toor won twice in the B Flight of singles. Libby's first round opponent was Aliya Guzman of Nazareth, with the UR sophomore earning an 8-3 win. In the second round, she defeated Audrey Camacho of host William Smith, 8-4.

Toor earned an 8-1 win over Geneseo's Abigail Rockwood in the opening round, and followed that up with a victory over Caitlyn Avery of St. Lawrence, winning 8-4.

Libby and Jasmin paired together as Rochester's top doubles team and earned multiple wins, qualifying for the semifinals which are set for Sunday.

In the C Flight singles draw, Rochester's Neha Dania earned a spot in the semifinals after two wins. She topped Ithaca's Eliana Chelnick 8-6 in the opening round before booking a spot in the semis following an 8-0 shutout of Nazareth's Katelyn Spath.

Additional strong results in doubles came from Jaclyn Dron and Shreya Mandalapu. The pair earned two victories and will compete in the semifinals on day two.
