BROCKPORT, NY – It was a terrific start to the 2023 portion of the schedule for the Rochester Men's Track and Field team at the Winter Welcome Back to Brockport Meet on Saturday at the SUNY Brockport Special Events and Recreation Center.

Overall, the Yellowjackets piled up five event wins, 10 All-Atlantic Regional qualifying performances, 6 NCAA Division III top-50 performances and 11 top-4 finishers at the meet.

Junior Mitch Lienert had two individual wins, senior Scott Sikorski had one individual and one relay win and senior Alec Glazier accounted for the other individual win. Sikorski ran on the winning 4x400 meter relay with teammates Gabe Lundy, Brendan McCollum and Daniel Ford.

Lienert had a record day, as he tied the Rochester indoor school record in the 60 meters, running a time of 7.04 seconds in his event win. That time ties him with teammate P.J. London who set the record at UR's first meet of the 2022-23 season back in December. London ended fifth in the race with a 7.16 second time, with both qualifying for regionals.

In addition to his win in the 60 meters, Lienert also crossed the finish first in 22.35 seconds in the 200 meters. That time ranks #9 currently in NCAA Division III and is a regional qualifier. Lundy finished right behind in second place in 22.78 seconds, another regional performance and #43 time in Division III. London was fifth again, clocking in 23.10 seconds.

Sikorski's individual win came in the 800 meters, as the senior posted a time of 1:53.58, the current #7 time in Division III. McCollum helped to another UR 1-2 finish, ending as runner-up in 1:56.05. McCollum's time was 1:56.05 and is among the top-25 times in Division III. Both were AAR qualifiers.

Lienert is now top-10 in Division III in the 200 meters.

In the relay, UR's 4x400 meter relay was the top team in 3:26.71, another regional qualifying performance and top-50 time.

Glazier crossed the finish first in the 3000 meters in 8:44.91, ranking #39 in Division III and easily booked his spot to the All-Atlantic Regional meet. Teammate Nate Brunacini was seventh in 9:03.75.

Across the field events, Nolan Ragland was runner-up in the weight throw with a heave of 15.43 meters, while teammate James O'Neill was third in the shot put with a 14.14 meter performance. O'Neill's effort was a regional qualifier. The two also competed in the other throwing event, with O'Neill winding up fifth in the weight throw and Ragland placing eighth in the shot put.

Peter Brodnik was UR's top hurdler, placing third in the 60 meter hurdles with an All-Atlantic Regional time of 8.62 seconds.

During the 400 meters, Gabe Thyne led two UR top-8 finishers with a fourth place result, crossing the stripe in 51.76 seconds. Max Creamer was eighth.

The Yellowjackets had three top-8 finishers in the high jump, led by Aadit Jain in seventh (1.86 meters). Alex Opsahl and Aeden Angelone tied for eighth with a 1.81 meter clearance.

Rochester's top pole vaulter was first-year Cody Reeth who jumped 3.95 meters, finishing in sixth.

In the horizontal jumps, Kyle Lane produced two top-8 results, finishing seventh in the long jump (6.39 meters) and eighth in the triple jump (12.65 meters). Sam Lorenzetti finished one spot ahead of Lane in the triple jump, leaping 12.90 meters.
