University of Rochester men's track & field sophomore
Emmett Hansen scored United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Second-Team All-America honors with his performance at this past weekend's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in La Crosse, WI, as announced by the USTFCCCA on Tuesday.
Â
Athletes of USTFCCCA member institutions who finished in the top eight of their respective individual events and relays at the DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships last week took home First-Team All-America honors, while those who placed ninth through 16th individually and ninth through 12th as part of a relay earned Second-Team All-America.
Â
With his 15th-place finish in the decathlon, tallying 6,378 points across the 10 events, Hansen earned Second-Team All-America honors, his second-career All-America accolade and his first outdoors.
Â
Hansen tallied a pair of fifth-place finishes in the decathlon in the high jump (1.83m) and 1,500 meters (4:35.58) and added two more top-10 results in the pole vault (4.15m) and javelin (47.61m).
Â
Hansen's All-America honor is the second in as many years in the decathlon for the Yellowjackets, following
Gabe Thyne's 16th-place finish in 2025, and Rochester's fourth top-16 finish in the decathlon in five years, with Alex Opshal's 13th-place result in 2023, and Aeden Angelone's 14th-place finish in 2022.
