UR Men’s Basketball Releases 2023-24 Slate

Coming off their second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, University of Rochester men's basketball will open the 2023-24 season with the Chuck Resler Tournament, taking on The College of Wooster in their opening round matchup on Friday, Nov. 10 at 6:00 p.m.
 
The 'Jackets enter their 14th season under Head Coach Luke Flockerzi coming off a 16-10 (6-8 UAA) campaign that saw the Yellowjackets reach the NCAA Division III Tournament for the sixth time under Flockerzi.
 
Flockerzi will once again be joined on the bench by Chris Manning and volunteer assistant Jacob Scott, as well as first-year assistant coach Ryan Roland, who joined Rochester from Oswego State University.
 
Rochester's 2023-24 schedule features 12 home games, three tournaments and 12 contests against teams that made the NCAA Tournament last year.
 
Following their season opener against the Fighting Scots, the Yellowjackets will face either Maryville (TN) or Rowan in their second game of the Chuck Resler Tournament, with the consolation game scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1:00 p.m., and the championship game to follow at 6:00 p.m.
 
The Yellowjackets then head crosstown to St. John Fisher University, who will host the men's portion of this year's Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout. Rochester faces Nazareth University on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 6:00 p.m., before taking on the host Cardinals on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 8:00 p.m.
 
UR then hosts Hobart College on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 8:00 p.m., before opening the month of December with the 2023 UAA Challenge.
 
After hosting in 2022, the 'Jackets will make the trek to Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT, which will host a six-team pod for this year's challenge. Rochester will face the host Panthers on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 3:30 p.m., and the Hamilton College Continentals on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 1:00 p.m.
 
Following a mid-week matchup at Ithaca College on Wednesday, Dec. 6, Rochester is back home on Tuesday, Dec. 12 for another non-conference clash, hosting York College of Pennsylvania at 5:00 p.m.
 
The Yellowjackets wrap up December on the road in Henrietta, NY, facing RIT on Sunday, Dec. 31 at 1:00 p.m., and ring in the new year on Tuesday, Jan. 2 in Baltimore, MD, facing Johns Hopkins at 2:00 p.m.
 
Rochester then opens University Athletic Association conference play on Saturday, Jan. 6, hosting Emory University at 2:00 p.m.
 
Up next, UR hits the road for the first time in UAA play, visiting the University of Chicago on Friday, Jan. 12 and Washington University in St. Louis on Sunday, Jan. 14.
 
The Yellowjackets are back home for another UAA double-up beginning Friday, Jan. 19 against Carnegie Mellon at 7:30 p.m., followed by a noon contest against Case Western Reserve on Sunday, Jan. 21.
 
Rochester then makes its way to New York, NY, kicking off a weekend on the east coast against NYU on Friday, Jan. 26, before making the drive up to Massachusetts to face Brandeis on Sunday, Jan. 28.
 
A week later, the Yellowjackets host both the Violets and Judges, kicking off a four-game homestand with conference matchups against NYU on Friday, Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m., and vs. Brandeis on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 12:00 p.m.
 
UR then welcomes the Maroons and Bears to the Louis Alexander Palestra, wrapping up its home slate with games against Chicago on Friday, Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m., and vs. WashU on Sunday, Feb. 11 at noon.
 
The 'Jackets' final UAA double-up is scheduled for the weekend of Friday, Feb. 16, as they visit Pittsburgh, PA for a matchup against the Tartans on Friday at 7:30 p.m., before making their way to Cleveland, OH to face the Spartans on Sunday, Feb. 18.
 
The Yellowjackets will wrap up the regular season in Atlanta, GA, facing Emory University on Friday, Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m.
 
Should Rochester reach it, the 2024 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament is scheduled for March 1-16, with first-round matchups scheduled for Friday, March 1.
