Led by conference Player of the Year
Maeve Fogarty, the University of Rochester field hockey team took home five All-Liberty League accolades following the 2023 season, as announced by the conference on Wednesday morning.

Fogarty becomes Rochester's fourth all-time Player of the Year in the Liberty League and the second to earn both the league's Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year honor. Fogarty won Rookie of the Year accolades following her first-year season in 2022 when the Yellowjackets swept the conference's major awards.

This season, UR tallied six total awards, with three members of the squad making the First Team and two others being awarded Second Team plaudits. In addition to her Player of the Year honor, Fogarty was selected to the Liberty League First Team at the forward position. She was joined on the top team by senior defender

Delainey Hebble were honored in voting conducted by the league's coaches.

Rochester finished the 2023 campaign with a 14-7 record, playing some of the toughest opponents in Division III. The Yellowjackets had a flare for the dramatic throughout the year, competing in 12 one-goal games, including six that went to overtime or a penalty shootout. In addition, Rochester's schedule featured nine games against eight teams that made the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Player of the Year/1st Team
Maeve Fogarty (SO, F, St. Louis, MO/Visitation Academy): 4th All-League honor (2022 ROY, 2022 2nd Team); The sophomore finished as the Liberty League's leading scorer with 33 points on the season, coming on 13 goals and seven assists. The 13 goals were also tied for first in the conference while the assist mark was tied for third in the league. Fogarty also notched three game-winning goals and rallied 79 total shots on the season, 50 of which were on target. In league play, Fogarty had 6 goals and 2 assists for 14 total points. She was an all-around player for the Yellowjackets, playing a center midfield spot and rarely comes off the field, as she has 1,257 minutes played this season (nearly 60 minutes per game average), playing a key role as a member of Rochester's offensive and defensive corners. The sophomore was Liberty League Player of the Week once in 2023 and earned honor roll praise two other times for her performance. In the Division III national rankings, she is 92nd in in points per game (1.57) and 104th in goals per game (0.62).

1st Team
Elisabeth Sidorski (SR, D, Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South): 4th All-League honor (2019 HM, 2022 Def. POY, 2022 1st Team); Sidorski anchored the Yellowjackets back line once again in 2023, playing the key center defender position, leading Rochester in minutes played, appearing on the field for 1,321 minutes out of a possible 1,330 on the year. She started all 21 games and tallied all three of UR's defensive saves this season, coming in a key wins over nationally ranked SUNY Cortland, SUNY Geneseo and against Liberty League foe Ithaca in mid-October. Rochester's defense was first among the Liberty League in fewest goals allowed (15) and fewest penalty corners allowed (101), while only surrendering 179 shots against, third fewest in the conference. Nationally, Sidorski's defensive efforts helped the Yellowjackets rank 9th in Division III in save percentage, 13th in goals against average and 20th in shutouts per game at 0.43 (9 in 21 games).

Kara Houston (SO, G, Woodstock, NY/Kingston): 2nd All-League honor (2022 HM); Houston had another terrific season between the pipes for the Yellowjackets and ranks as the top goalkeeper in the Liberty League, leading the conference in goals against average, shutouts, save percentage and minutes played. The sophomore overall finished with a 14-7 record for Rochester, with a 0.69 GAA, 80 saves, 0.842 save percentage and 8 solo shutouts across 1,300 minutes in net. She ranks 10th in all of Division III in save percentage and is 13th in goals against average. During Liberty League play, Houston surrendered just five goals in eight games (0.60 GAA) and has made 24 saves for a .828 save percentage. She recorded shutouts against Vassar, Union and Skidmore and was a Liberty League weekly honor roll selection three times and Defensive Player of the Week once.

2nd Team
Zoe Conomikes (SR, F, Pittsburgh, PA/Shady Side Academy): 1st All-League honor; Conomikes was a key offensive performer for the Yellowjackets in 2023, finishing second on the team in scoring with 21 points, scoring 7 goals and adding 7 assists for 21 total points. She paced Rochester, and the Liberty League in total shot attempts with 91 on the season. Her point total was 8th in the league, she ranked 3rd in assists and was tied for 2nd with three game-winning goals this season. A key stretch for the senior came from Sept. 20 through Oct. 7, when Conomikes recorded a point in six straight games, including four goals and three assists in that 5-1 stretch for UR. She also was Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week during that time, earning the award on Oct. 2.

Delainey Hebble (SR, M, Camden, NY/Camden): 1st All-League honor; Hebble was a solid member of the midfield for Rochester, patrolling the key left side of the field for the Yellowjackets. She logged 1,265 minutes played, averaging over 60 minutes per game on the season. Her stat totals include 2 goals and 4 assists for 8 total points, adding 40 shot attempts and 23 shots on goal, all being in the top-5 on Rochester in 2023. She scored the game-winning goal against Oswego State and added another goal in a late season Liberty League win against Skidmore.
